Statement From Chancellor Regarding University of Tennessee Presidency
ATLANTA - (April 12) - University System of Georgia Chancellor Thomas C. Meredith issued the following update and statement today regarding his status as a candidate for the position of president of the University of Tennessee:
"I am grateful for the show of support from the Board of Regents, the Governor, the General Assembly and our presidents and am therefore withdrawing my name from the search for the president of the University of Tennessee," Chancellor Meredith stated. "We have much to do together to reach our goal of 'Creating a More Educated Georgia.'"
