| WHAT: | Dr. Rahn and Umbach will present a report on expanding medical education in Georgia to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia at the board’s regular, monthly meeting. A media briefing with the individuals mentioned above will follow. |

The presentation of the report to the Board of Regents will take place at approximately 10:45 a.m. The media briefing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. |

| WHY: | The expansion would address a critical statewide need for more physicians. The consulting firm retained by the Medical College of Georgia on behalf of the Board of Regents has analyzed medical education needs nationwide. |
