PeachNet® Maintenance Policy

The Office of Information and Instructional Technology (OIIT) has the following official PeachNet maintenance policy:

PeachNet maintenance will be scheduled between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The OIIT Helpdesk will publish maintenance announcements on http://www.usg.edu/peachnet/announcements.phtml at least 48 hours before a planned major service outage. If the maintenance affects a large geographical area, a notice will also be published through the OIITAnnounce-L Listserv mailing list. If the maintenance affects a specific area, messages will be sent to the contacts of record for the affected sites.

On occasion, unscheduled or emergency maintenance may be necessary, when 48 hour advance notice will not be possible. These emergency maintenances are rare and should only occur when the stability of the network is at risk.
